    Roaches et al

I culture both Texas and Arizona Arenivaga spp. sand roaches. And actually, that sheet showed a lot of large moths but it can be much more cluttered looking with medium and smaller sized insects than that one appeared to be. I find Stagmomantis, Yersiniops and Litaneutria in AZ, but the only...

    Roaches et al

Wonderful thread! I'll be blacklighting here again this summer: http://nitro.biosci.arizona.edu/zeeb/butterflies/mothlist.html I was there a few weeks ago and Arizona is mostly just a bust in April. I did find a bunch of white-lined sphinxes, but when can't you? Oregon doesn't have a lot of...

It took me a minute to figure out what that was Agent. I haven't seen periodic table in a long time. Thanks!

    Lovely Moths - Identify?

Sphinx moths (sphingidae) of some kind and possibly a breeding pair if they were together. They often have very pretty eye spots on the underwings if you push the top set back.

If you're a bug geek like me, it's really cool to have the first state record in the BugGuide.net database for an insect. http://bugguide.net/node/view/764126

Dog Bane beetle on a weeping willow tree??

There are a good handful of chrysomelidae family beetles that fit that description, but I think your guess is a good one. Until about a month ago, I had been seeing a lot of Altica genus flea beetles (Chrysomelidae) around here.

    Dedicated Caresheets? (Brainstorming)

I'm with many of you with respect to using a categories-based template. It's nice to see a strong start on the caresheets so quickly, but we are getting a little disorganized with it already. Templates provide many benefits. They provide the contributor to the post with a set list of information...

    Dedicated Caresheets? (Brainstorming)

You can request to add content to an existing, locked caresheet thread. The significance of the addition may affect whether we merge your comment into the original, community caresheet (w/o credit) or allow you to post in the thread (retaining credit as author...and increasing your post count by...

    Reinstatement of Bug Trader

Oh, and in that mod's defense, they were working two 12 hour shifts the last two days and that was part of the issue. We all have lives outside this forum (unless we don't, in which case we need to get one) ;) And so, a temporary stop to BT's account was slightly longer than it should have...

    Reinstatement of Bug Trader

One of our mods was supposed to contact BT about the temporary halt on his account that they made. Apparently that did not happen. No moderator action should ever be taken to that extent without an explanation, plain and simple. I'm closing this thread and will be considering the issuance of...

    Forum members in the U.K.

I have edited out some of the unnecessary posts on this subject and reopened the thread. The deleted posts either mentioned the names of other members or the content seemed more appropriate for the personal messenger system (private arguments). I recommend we just leave the conversation here as...

Look on bugguide.net for entries from NY. Pay attention to the collection/photo date, as well.

    Sills criket water pillow?

I've got a bunch of those that I never really found a use for. I think they would work just fine for humidity. However, paper towel seems more effective and quite a bit cheaper. Mantises drop frass all over the enclosure, so these cricket pillows would get a little unsightly after awhile. Paper...
