    Bugfest 2016!!

Still sounds like a great time.  One of these years I'll do it.  I can't really afford the 1800 mile round trip right now although I do have the time (the main reason I can't afford it :D )

    Bugfest 2016!!

One of these years I'm going to make it.  Sounds like a great event.  Are there no live non native mantids allowed at all?  What about phasmids.  I know exotics are pretty much illegal for most of us but since this event may have some educational institutions participating I thought maybe there...

    Baby Pseudouroctonus reddelli scorpions

I bought several scorpions a month or so ago and when I looked into her cage this morning I found my female Pseudouroctonus reddelli with babies.  I'm pretty pumped.  The only other babies I ever got with scorpions were from several WC Pandinus imperator females. I need to look for care info...

    My New African Giants

Thanks to drotski's post http://mantidforum.net/forums/index.php?/topic/37485-i-am-getting-an-invert-i-once-disliked/ (well, I'm not sure if I should thank him or blame him :D ) I just received 3 A. gigas from Ward science.  2 really nice sized specimens, though I don't think they were quite as...

Stumbled across this cool video on a new honey gathering invention

I almost seems like one of those too good to be true things.  I'm not suggesting there is anything wrong going on just that it seems to be a little too simple or maybe just a lot too expensive.  Looks like a setup costs anywhere from 300-500 bucks depending on the bells and whistles you get...

    Favourite Pet-Trade Arthropods?

IMO no arthropod collection would be complete without a few tailless whip scorpions and vinegaroons.  Damon diadema seems to be the most common of the TL whips and they can be found fairly readily.  I know at least 1 Canadian breeder who has,or at least had, some of the uber incredible CBB...

    Preserved Nymphs

Thanks for the tips and info.  I may try this with some exoskeletons as well.  Probably no need to dry them much at all.  I have a bunch of D. diadema of all sizes.  The trick will be to find a vial or jar that would allow a decent display.  I'll look for some short squat jars maybe like those...

    Preserved Nymphs

Looks great.  I watched a few you tube videos on that.  I'm going to have to try it.  They say the specimens will stay floating like that forever.  I got a bunch of wheel bug nymphs and one arrived dead.  I'll have to try it. What are you using for bottles.

    kitkat39

Multiple thumbs up from me.  Just got a nice shipment of 10 D. lobata from Kiet and several bonuses.  It was a very smooth transaction and he worked around my shipping parameters.  Will definitely consider in the future.

my new communal D diadema tub

My D diadema group is now at about 5th instar so I figured its time to move them up to something a little bigger than what they were in.  Its a 64 QT Homz tub with latching lid.  I like that even if you forget to latch it the lid does snap in place so it is somewhat secure.  Second pic is...

I am getting an invert I once disliked!

Thanks for the post drotski, I ordered mine today.  They should be here next Thursday.  That is a monster you have there,  The site says average 6-8 inches.  I ordered 3 so hopefully 1 is that big.  Gotta go round up some oak leaves now.

Any inverts considered to be GIANT here in the U.S.?

The Giant vinegaroon Mastigoproctus giganteus.  Is has to be giant, it says so right in the name. I also guess it was depend on who is doing the considering.  I know plenty of people who consider every spider they see to be a giant freaking spider.

    New Invert Owner here!

The ultimate T right?  I pity the fool. I tried to put a smiley emoticon in my first post so you would know I was joking but for some reason they wouldn't load for that reply.

Isn't that Mr T in your avatar or whatever those little picture thingies are called?

    New Invert Owner here!

You, of all people, should not have to ask what a T is.

    The other addiction.

Beardies are great animals and yeah, they do love the dandelions.  Not only the flowers but the greens as well.  Actually the greens are probably better for them. If you are keeping them together just make sure they both continue to grow and if you notice one growing faster you may want to...

Anyone interested in a male unicorn added pictures

Unicorns do exist.  I have a male unicorn mantis that was WC as a nymph in AZ about 4 months ago.  It just molted into adulthood on 3/27/16.  At least I think it is a male.  It is at about 2 3/4" and the wings extend far beyond the abdomen.  I'll get a picture if anyone shows interest.  I'm also...

WTB- adult female or close to it dead leaf mantis also nymphs

I've had an unexpected quick start to my library program season.  A couple of libraries have booked shows for the end of March (usually they don't start popping up until June)  and I am finding myself short a few stars.  My primary interest would be an adult, or close to it female dead leaf...

    The lost has returned :)

I think we got all the good DIY info we can get from you.  Your usefulness has been depleted and we don't need you any more :D For those who missed the point of the smiley face it was a joke.  I've gotten tons of useful info from CosbyArt and now that I am thinking about breeding wax worms I'm...
