That looks like a "he", I can tell. Raised a female and a male Giant asian, male passed, female is alive and well, when he was a nymph, his abdomen looked exactly like this.

He molted to adult sometime in june-may and is now on the verge of dying of old age. He seems to be suffering, and I want to end it quickly. He didn't get a chance to mate, which is sad, because my female is healthy and an adult now. Should I feed him to her?

My male seems like he is unable to even stand up and can't get on the female's back, so is it his time?

Both of my Hierodula mem. Have been an adult for about 2 weeks + now, especially my male. I feel like his "time" is coming and I want to mate them first. But when I take both of them out, set them on my bed with the male behind her, they just sit there. Male just sits there. Same as the female...

I watched that documentary. They were primarly talking about both Spho And Hierodula. This species looks like a Spho.

My female Hierodula Mem. molted to adult on Monday, and she has little to no interest in food. She spots the food, and strikes at it, but she doesn't pick it up. She just touches it and keeps looking at it. She kind of denies hand fed mealworms.' To restate, she just strikes at prey. But...

if it is an ooth it's probably hatched LONG ago considering the such dark color. it could be in-fertile, too lol

Is that thing an ooth or a bird dropping or a dead chrysalis?
