    Lee's Pet Kricket Keepers?

Is this the link you found? http://mantidforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=29026 I'm not sure if he's making cages at the moment. The majority of mine came from Livemonarch.com. http://www.livemonarch.com/store_enclosures.php Mantisplace.com and other vendors also sell them. The net...

    Blepharopsis mendica hatch!!! Yay

I keep nymphs together by size and don't have many issues with cannibalism as long as I check daily to see if they need food. I've been following this thread and am not sure if I mentioned this here or somewhere else...I try to remove the ones that get ahead in molts or fall behind. I had two...

    Lee's Pet Kricket Keepers?

Mantiscurious, did you ever try any of the red silk flowers from Dollar Tree? I usually buy my silk flowers from Michaels. But once when I was waiting for a pizza, I went in the Dollar Tree store and bought a few things including some red silk flowers. The dye came off, and I was concerened...

    Beginner Hobbyist Returning

Welcome back. Do you find mantids in the wild in your area? I never see any here in central Minnesota (Twin Cities area). We have such harsh winters. I grew up over the border in Wisconsin, and I think the only place I saw them as a kid was in southeast Wisconsin.

    Finally getting busy! D. dessicata

Good luck with yours! I had one female that lived with two males in a terrarium. She mated with one of them on a regular basis, but the ooths she laid did not hatch. Both males lived a long time and died of old age.

    Lee's Pet Kricket Keepers?

I use a variety of enclosures for my mantids...depending on the species and the number of mantids in the enclosure. I currently have 46 enclosures...down from almost 100 in the spring. Like Krissim Klaw, I prefer net enclosures for many species. I have 16 net enclosures in use at the moment. I...

    Blepharopsis Consolidated

Wish I knew. Do they have any injuries? If they are healing or missing a leg, they can take longer. With this species, I sometimes have one that stalls and takes longer to molt to an adult. A former forum member and I got our first nymphs around the same time (May/June 2011). I sent him a male...

    Hobby getting out of Hand!!!!

I started out with four species over 2.5 years ago. I was addicted to checking the forum ads the first year. It was really thrilling back then everytime I got a new species. My species grew to a maximum of 27 species at one time. In the spring this year I had almost 100 enclosures. I usually...

    Blepharopsis Mendica

I've been raising B mendica for over two years now. They require extra heat and do better at my house with only minimal spraying. For me, I find they are more difficult to raise than many species, and I lose a few more L1 and L2 nymphs than some species. But as for the mating, I find them one...

    Blepharopsis mendica hatch!!! Yay

Congratulations! Not a lot of people have been able to breed this species! With mine, sometimes about half of them hatch one day and the rest the following day.

Have you logged in and out today? I don't know if that makes a difference. When you clicked to follow this thread, can you confirm you have it set to notify you instantly? I'm pretty sure that is the default, but there is an offline, daily and weekly option. You would have had to check one of...

    email notifications

It's been so long since I used Outlook Express that I can't recall if it has a junk/spam folder. But since you are getting notifications from private messages, then this probably isn't the issue then since the notifications come from the same email address. If you are following a topic and you...

I was thinking you were talking about private messages. What mail system are you using and what antivirus software? I found that Norton was flagging messages from mantidforum as spam and putting them in my spam folder in outlook.
