You know what it is. After keeping reptiles, like 4 foot breeder size tegus, 7 foot nile monitors, chameleons, bearded dragons, etc.

You start looking at a deli cup, and realizing 6 to 8 will fit into the tank that you just had one lizard in, not so bad. Then you start thinking, a deli cup, not such a big deal, heck, I got a cupboard, full of coffee mugs, and glasses, and I can only use one of those at a time, So whats the harm in one more mantis cup! lol

Oh by the way WuWu, I went to the show, with the intentions, of only picking up some Idolo's if anyone had any. I was focused, and steady..........until I got there! The only mantis I couldn't get was the Idolo of course!

I started out with four species over 2.5 years ago. I was addicted to checking the forum ads the first year. It was really thrilling back then everytime I got a new species. My species grew to a maximum of 27 species at one time. In the spring this year I had almost 100 enclosures. I usually have too many to count with ooths hatching all the time but I'm guessing that it ranges between 500 - 1,000 most of the time.

I understand the burn out. Keeping around 100 enclosures clean and all the mantids fed and misted was a lot of work. I've been downsizing a bit over the past four months. I just got back from a camping trip. Before I left, I had 47 enclosures...a more manageable number.

Hope you stick with the hobby!

Kool, I'm only going through about 400 flies a week, I still have plenty of room before any reevaluation is needed, so looks like I need more mantids! Yeaaa!! See what you did there??!!! You just justified me, into getting more! LOL
