that seems kinda odd. Try attempting to mate one of your less 'precious' (ik they r all precious but i mean one that is more common) like a male chinese. Then see what happens I dont think it should be an issue tho

i use to have a pet cockatiel (sunny) however some pesky cockatoos came and managed to open his cage (for the seeds in the cage). He could fly and the poor thing got scared and flew away ); He was captive bred and could not survive in the wild.

L3 would be best. Most reputable breeders sell at l3 make sure you have a fruit fly culture to feed them! good luck ❤️
