I don't much much about ooths and never even hatched one myself but I think it would be fine to take them in for the winter in the fridge if you want to keep a couple of the nymphs for spring but if not, then the ooths should be completely fine outside as they are adapted for this kind of cold...

Thanks for posting more of the epaphrodita, there's almost no pictures of this species and I find them pretty interesting. They're like a shorter and stockier deroplatys.

Lol I know what you mean by destroying the food. When he was smaller there were always these giant moths outside of my house that had a wingspan 3x his length and were at least 2x the mass of him. I put one in his cage one day because I was low on food and wanted to see if he would even attempt...

I actually did see videos of p. Illudens on YouTube and they do seem to be at least a different subspecies (but I could be wrong) as there head crests are much longer and not as patterned as paradoxa. The leaf decorations on the body and legs are also smoother as well. Just search phyllocrania...

If I did get the moss would I need some dirt for the moss or would it be fine without any dirt because I've never kept moss before

I have an l3 rhombodera and want to know if some moss would be A good substrate to the cage I have him in. If moss can be used what problems would come with it

Usually the abdomen pulsing is just the mantis breathing though holes in its abdomen called spiracles. Mantises always do this and it's normal but I have heard that some other people on here notice the pulsing more when the mantis is about to moult

Sadly I never did find twister (named because of a kink in his abdomen since l2). I did every strategy you go told me but I never did find him.  :(

he escaped while I was at school because someone left his cage open. The doors were also open so he could be anywhere! Any suggestions about looking through a whole house instead of just one room?
