Welcome!  Oh, how I wish I had a menagerie like you, but my husband says no.  I slipped mantids in along with our cat pets, and LOVE them!  I would recommend before you get your first that you get a few different size homes for them so you don't end up having to rush into preparing a bigger home...

I do, and I use a few of the other mantis stores out there... I have had nothing but good experience with each of the bug/frog/mantis stores.  One of the things I like too is that a lot of the bug stores are on the forum here too and are all super helpful and friendly!

Haha!  I did rough up the surface, but also hot glued a fake cloth leaf that covers most of it.  He still likes to hang on to the lid itself, though.  I like to use cloth mesh, but Indy doesn't seem to like it.  I used it in the old cup he was in, he touched it once and avoided it like plague...
