    Introducing Indy!

First Terrarium for in-between size, what do you think?  Clean-up crew and moist dirt.  Air holes sides and back at top and about 1" from sediment top.  Feeding hole on side about 2" from sediment top. All plants are hot glued to something or other.  Shell is like a water dish type deal, there...

    Small low-maintenance species?

Hello, I am thinking of getting some of those terrariums that you mount to the wall and modifying to allow for mantids (I could have pretty decor for guests to see and mantids for me to enjoy!)... But would need to be able to purchase some type of rather small, easy-to-care for mantis for them...

    my first mantis house

Definately not for adults, just the nymphs.  I am working on a bigger terrarium for them as they grow up and have bigger deli cups for in between. Fantastic info, thanks!!  The feeding holes are sized for the cricket-keeper feeder thing... This keeper has the feeder wholes in the lid, but the...

    Hello all!

Welcome! Maybe getting ready to lay that ooth... Very neat!   They are great as pets!  Fairly low maintenance depending on what you want.  If you find her ooth after she lays, you can put it in a pop-up cage and save a nymph or two after hatching.  The other pages in the forum have awesome...

    my first mantis house

Made this for my nymphs, does it look okay, anything I need to do or change?  It's 2-sided out of a cricket cage. The lids are hinged with yarn, velcro'd shut, easy to open.  I have little plug thingies I can pull out for quick feeding/misting. I didn't want anything too fancy, because they'll...

    Hello From Ohio!

Welcome!  You're already less novice than I am, very cool story/info!! fruit flies are super-crazy easy to raise and keep with a starter kit.  I'm starting bluebottle flies now and hear those are even easier!  I have tried hornworms, but my mantids aren't fans yet, probably too little still...
