    New owner from wisconsin

Welcome to the forum, once you get your mantis you start to get your bearings pretty quickly.  Plus this forum has a good wealth of information.

From Chicago, a new hobbyist approaches!

Hi there and welcome to the forum. Funny you mention WoD as I literally was making a character earlier today for a reunion campaign of sorts with friends from a few years ago. Also nice mantids you have there.

Old mantis tearing holes in screen and getting stuck

I hear that as they get older getting stuck on mesh/screens becomes more common, I don't think I personally know any solutions myself though.  Also just the obligatory PSA don't release non-native species, if you need to get rid of them for any reason the freezer is the best choice.

    Colorado Newbie

Welcome to the forum! I started with ghosts myself, although that quick grew to a good number of others.  They're an awesome species though and a good starter.

Hey from Philly! Artistic, weird, and nerdy!

I'm about two/three hours north of you in the Poconos. I wouldn't say your a poser either if anything that be me I haven't played in so long, most of the people I used to play with went their separate ways after college sadly.

Hey from Philly! Artistic, weird, and nerdy!

Hello and welcome to the forum, good to see another paper & pencil RPG loving Pennsylvanian.  I'm new to the hobby myself but I've quickly grown to love it. I'd love to help out but there are probably a lot more reliable members in terms of informational knowledge.

    From Connecticut

Welcome to the forum, I sadly don't have any experience finding wild ooths so I don't have much in the way of advice on that front.

Long Time Praying Mantis Lover, new to the Forum.

Hi there, welcome to the forums!  Sadly before I had a decent supply of fly cultures going I was working with some smaller crickets and had a similar situation you had with BenSha.  Pretty much my fault I had my wife feed my mantis and forgot to mention to remove the cricket if it wasn't eaten...

    Ghost mantids survival question

Yeah I agree with separating them, always better safe than sorry.  Never feels good to see one of your mantids having a friend for lunch.

    Ghost mantids survival question

I used to keep ghosts together in a large enclosure together until one of them decided that the other might be a good meal.  They were all well fed at the time so from that point I moved them into separate homes just to be safe.

    Do you get emotionally attached?

I love my mantises and when one dies it definitely makes me upset.  That being said it's not to the same level as the grief I've felt when other pets like my dog or ferret had passed away.  I think part of that comes with them having a much shorter life span, I'm more emotionally prepared for it...

    I want to introduce myself

Welcome to the forum, I second that this is a great place to be. Good people and mantids

    Texas Unicorns discussion thread

In the mantid reddit page someone found one of these guys in their backyard just the other day.  Maybe they'd be interested in taking a look around for them or ooths.

    Hello All

Hey there!  Welcome to the forum :)
  18. Tehshlendo

    Greetings all :)

Welcome, my wife is the same way at the moment.  I don't think there's a day that goes by where she doesn't ask about orchid mantids.

Curly wing flies as a feeder

I don't know much about the curly wing flies but I had similar issues with the flies in the fridge issue with my wife. I ended up getting a small wine cooler with a digital thermometer that works great and was pretty cheap, also ends up being very quiet too.
