    My Roaches!

Here's a thread devoted to my roach collection, I have threads like this posted on other forums but have yet to post on here, I hope you guys enjoy! :) Blaberus atropos, (these guys have quite variable pronotum patterns):Byrsotria sp. "Cuba":FemaleMaleChorisoneura texensis:Ergaula...

    Motyxia Bioluminescent Millipedes

Thanks, I hope so too! :) They may arrive dead though, as I went the cheap way out and used priority shipping, didn't have enough for express. I know that millipedes are pretty fragile shippers, and it's pretty hot over here now, so I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if they ended up dead...

    Motyxia Bioluminescent Millipedes

Very awesome, just ordered three from you yesterday! I really hope they arrive OK! :)  How do yours seem to be doing? Holding up well so far?

    Streptocephalus sealii log

I got them from a Hobby Lobby, one of those "Prehistoric beasts" kind of kits. I know they are still viable, but I don't quite know where I put them... Even if I did find them though, I have no room for a aquatic setup at the moment, so unfortunately I probably won't be hatching them anytime...

    Streptocephalus sealii log

Very cool, kept the "sea monkeys" before, though these seem much more interesting. My culture died out about a year after strating it, despite having plenty of the food left. :( Also got some Triop eggs somewhere in my garage, never got around to hatching those out...

    Scolopendra alternans

Very nice, hope it does well for you! :)

    Melanolestes picipes

Those are the bloodsucking "kissing bugs" in the subfamily Triatominae, and are in a completely different subfamily than these. Melanolestes (and most other assassin bugs for that matter) eat insects and do not transmit any diseases. They do have venom do, and getting bit would be like getting...

    Melanolestes picipes

@Brunneria, I finally got some assassins! :D  Got a pair of these from a trade with Mastigoproctus on AB, (AKA Micheal Dixon, the owner of Mike's House of A Thousand Legs), and they are very nice! I love the red bordering on these guys, hopefully I will be able to breed them!Male:Female:

    Isopod substrate

Yup, that's some good old isopod frass. :) Many of my isopods cage's substrates have been converted into this poop, and they don't seem to mind in the slightest.

    Gongylus gongylodes, Violin mantis, L3

Very beautiful photos of a very beautiful mantid! Hope those nymphs mature for you! :)

    Stagmomantis limbata (?)

Very cool, it's amazing that you got your female to mate and lay two ootheca in that condition, she really lived her life to the fullest. :D Hopefully her young will grow nicely for you, and hopefully her deformities were not genetic...

    Hypsiocorypha gracilis

Very cool species! Hope they do well for you!

    Acontista multicolor

Man these guys are so cute, I really want some! I wonder if they would be fine eating tiny roach nymphs... Also, anyone notice that these and certain ambush bugs (specifically Phymata sp), look extremely similar? Compare the adult female pictured to this:

Red runner colony issues: Parasitic flies? And roaches not reproducing?

Hmm, what temps are you keeping your red runners at? Your care seems to be good, it may just be taking the ootheca a while to hatch. Are the ootheca being kept humid? As for the flies, it is within the realm of possibility that they are tachnid flies, as I have had a WC Parcoblatta nymph...

    First scorpion

Very nice, been wanting one of these for a while now! :D Hope she does well for you!

    Alan's isopod thread

Nice collection, I especially love the Miktoniscus medcofi, they are so cool looking! :D

    Darkling I.D Request for Hisserdude

That's something that a lot of darkling beetles do, just cling to the back of a cage mate and sit there. Don't know why they do it, why else would they want to cling to another beetle's back unless they were gonna mate? Darkling beetles are weird lol!

    False bombardier beetle

Well next time you see some you should try to keep them, ground beetles, especially cool looking ones like these, make great and entertaining pets! :)  Galerita are one of the coolest genera in North America in my opinion, they are just so unique! :D
