    Indian stick insects?

Utopia -- many of the carriers offer international mail. UPS, Fedex, USPS. I have found when international mail COMES to the US, it comes by USPS most often. Although all three I think have stations around the world. Jim, in the last few months, more and more people on eBay from the UK simply...

    Giant dead leaf mantis(Deroplatys desiccata)

Morpheus always samples his feed before giving it to the mantids. That's what makes him on the forefront of mantis care :P

Welcome to the forum Chuck  Lot of knowledgeable heads here, so if there's an answer out there for you, they've got it.

    LOOKING FOR Bluebottle Flies

Blue Bottle Flies Blue Bottle fly larvae (re: maggots) can be stored in the refrigerator, but REQUIRE only minimal air, so keep them in the shipping container, in the medium they shipped in. When receiving Blue Bottle maggots, you can refrigerate the maggots and they will go into a dormant...

    Sybilla pretiosa

How are you sexing them? They're so petite it's hard to see anything really. Antennae lengths are negligible, so are you going by segments on the adbdomen? I actually bought a sexed pair of S. dolosa a while back and I put the two next to each other (L6) and still cannot figure out how the guy...

Very cool. Any idea on the ***? How many do you have? I have an L5 that will need a mate eventually.

    LOOKING FOR Bluebottle Flies

I kept my batch of pupae from Rebecca (thanks for the other sources too guys who posted) in the fridge, and took them out for three days, and 12 metamorphosed. A day later and none of their wings have fully uncurled, but I have them in an 20 oz. cup with a slab of raw kielbasa from the freezer...

    i want this mantis..Idolomantis diabolica?

Not everyone has SLR's like us Macro... <_< You think it's small for you? My desktop resolution is 1900x1200...imagine what I'm looking at. I did see the L1 nymph on the adult female though, so thanks for sharing Juergen. How long have you worked with Idolomantis? I put her into...

    Thor's mantidportraits

Could you take a shot of maybe straight-on into the mouth? This macro equipment could prove useful to better diagraming the mouth parts of a mantis, as I doubt those people who wrote the books/drew the pictures decades ago had the SLR equipment we have today. Maybe try and get one to open his...

    SOme pics taken recently

After seeing your pictures of the feeding, it reminded me of what I discovered today. Although it bears little relevance to the pictures, I found that if your mantis isn't bold enough to take on a full size lobster roach, milk the abdomen of the guts, and it should come out as one large piece...

    orchid subadult in the future?

I am not Rick, but I don't see any problem with it. I don't think freezing temps (even if you did leave the package/letter with the ooth outside for a couple hours worst case scenario) would render the ooth bad.

    Dead leaf mantis

This has always been a favorite species of mine. For some reason it's the most artistically pleasing I think from a cryptic point of view. I hope you have better luck with this new stock Yen, and continue to get them going for years to come. A full three weeks after mating comes the ooth, hunh...
