    Yeah, really quick! They hatched on Christmas. That I've seen... I would have said this was 5th instar. I've been counting, but you know how tiny they are as babies.. And those are clearly wing buds. Pretty sure this is a male?

    I keep thinking. You know what I wish we had? A list of species and the minimum, maximum, and average numbers of nymphs out of an ootheca for that species. Wouldn't that be handy? I don't know if everyone cares about those numbers, but it's certainly something I consider before buying an ooth...

    Indeed, I hope they some day make a comeback. One question- it looks to me like the belly has some pink and the eyes look blue-ish, so why call it "pink eye"?
