I grow plants, namely, orchid plants. I'd say plants are my main hobby and mantises are only secondary. A couple years back, things were completely the opposite. I guess it's because life is busier now and plants require less time and care than mantises. Not to say I don't love my bug babies 😍!

Yep! She molted yesterday and regrew her leg, even though it's shorter and doesn't have the "petal lobe", it's still a leg! It's amazing how well mantises can regenerate themselves.

I noticed that they become pinker closer to their molts, and this is more apparent in subadult females preparing for their final molt. But then again, I've had some males and younger females turn extremely pink at certain stages. Others remained pure white.  I never really figured out why. I...

If I remember correctly, females have 2 extra molts than males. In my effort to slow down orchid males, I did notice that occasionally males skipped a molt and reached adulthood 1 molt early. As adults, they were smaller than normal.
