    Biting?

Ive never been bitten but I have been "stabbed" by one of my Chinese and yes it does hurt. Btw I posted a topic a lot like this a few moths ago. There were a lot of bite stories in there if you can find it. Try searching this forum for "attack".

    Winter is fast approaching

Like you I catch wild prey for my mantids. I used to just get them in the spring and summer and keep them until they died and just didnt keep any during the cold months but now I raise Lobster Roaches and can keep the buggies year round. I have actually enjoyed the roaches. I find them...

Cheap and easy to make cage (MUST SEE!)

Awesome idea and diagrams. The only thing that would worry me is that I would go to take the top off, roll the rubber band up and the mantis would get squished between the rubber band and the netting. I use plastic storage containers, plastic mesh, hot glue and foam for all my enclosures. Its...

And I call it... THE ICE CREAM SUB (It's complicated!)

Very creative. I like the idea you had for the feeding hole. I might have to try something like that with a large mouthed bottle like Vitaminwater. (I like to mist and feed through the same opening and larger holes makes it easier to shake food into.)

    Greetings from Wake Forest

I know it can be hard to move to some place new. I have always lived in the US but was born and raised in the state of Illinois. Moving here after living up there for 21 years I felt like I needed to learn a new language among other things!

    Mantids in popular culture- Go!

Haha funny funny. Oh yeah and for Nintendo 64 there was a game called Body Harvest where you fought giant super insects and one was a giant 100 foot mantis that shot lazers out of its mouth. I want one of those! :D
