    Firenkyo's Mantids

Based on what Montana Mantids told me he does look like a male! Any reason for the name Thursday? It's a really neat name!

    Isopod pics/vids

Oh I've never seen those before! They are stunning! They look like some sort of colorful tiled pattern almost. I wish there were some scientific articles about their discovery because I'd love to learn about them. It's so weird how they can evolve that coloration (like rubber duckies) in the...

    Isopod pics/vids

They are gorgeous! I've actually been wanting them for a bit now, but since I'm in an apartment I'm a little limited on space for a bunch of colonies - so I've just got my good old pruinosus. So it was kinda a nice surprise to get the zebra! There's only one, though, so unless it's a pregnant...

    Isopod pics/vids

Been getting some decent videos and pictures of my isopods recently, and I wanted to share them with fellow enthusiasts! I don't have any professional equipment (besides the microscope you'll see featured) so most of this is just shot from my phone. I ordered some more Porcellionides...

    Firenkyo's Mantids

I did! I decided on Cilantro as her name because she looks a lot like a wilted piece of it lol. She molted a few weeks ago and is looking fairly green! It's cool to see the differences between her and Minty - she's a lot more curious and active! Bonus pictures of Minty

    Firenkyo's Mantids

Sorry for being totally dead on this forum - college........ But I have good news! Minty just had his final molt a couple days ago! I took some pictures of him today since his exoskeleton should be fully hardened. He's already taking advantage of being able to fly Aaand I got another...

Black Eyes and Possible Abdomen Collapse: Two Chinese Mantis Nymphs, a Case Study

You could try cutting a mealworm in half and holding it up for it to eat! You'll probably have to wiggle it so it looks alive for the mantis to take it.

    Molting

Help the original poster if they need it again, cause they didn't have a part in anything besides the first post. The rest was my bad, don't take it out on somebody else

    Gut loading flies

Hey! Sorry for all the threads I've been making lately, just realized that I have a lot to learn about mantis keeping. So I've seen that a few people will gut load their feeders with gecko food - but I don't have one and don't know much about their food at all. Is there something else I can...

    Hello all

Hey! I'm pretty new to it as well, and I found these careguides online for your species. I think the humidity is pretty high for both of those guys. https://www.panterrapets.com/pages/giant-african-mantis-caresheet https://www.panterrapets.com/pages/ghost-mantis-caresheet The second one is for...

    Bug art pieces

Just wanted to share some of my bug art to fellow insect lovers! If anybody has any suggestions for a species I should draw feel free to comment or message me! I think I can edit this post over time as I make more pieces, and if not I'll just reply to the thread with more images. (From left...

    Hello!

I've been feeding him larger flightless fruit flies (multiple in a sitting until he gets plump), but I've got blue bottle flies shipping to me from Josh's frogs right now!
