    Permanently dephormed nymph?

I am also curious as to why you must freeze them for 24 hours and what certain methods for euthenizing are considered most human and why. I always feel torn up doing it.

Thankyou! it's sad that it is so deformed I'll keep all that in mind.  I had to euthanize another  nymph tonight because one of the others after his right eye.

    Permanently dephormed nymph?

Hi all, just recently saved a brood of nymphs that had hatched and nearly drown in some condensation that collected at the bottom of my container. Unfortunately one of the nymphs seems to have been injured or deformed by the water trapping him against the base of the container and cannot bring...

    Feeding mantis nymphs springtails?

Emotional roller coaster tonight! came home after getting my liscense and was excitedly showing the neighbor my singular mantis and ooth. when I went to grab the container with the ooth (that I'd previously misted to restore some moisture to the very dry ooth) I saw a ring of submerged corpses...

    Feeding mantis nymphs springtails?

Totally did! is there a specific place I can post updates on my nymph in the forums or is that typically frowned upon since it's not seeking to answer any questions?

One mantid born from Oothica Nov 29th?

Thanks for the info! figured the ph could be problematic but didn't even think RO would be a possible danger. I will just mix 1 to 1 with the filtered water and tap. I just want to be giving my nymph the best care I can. :) thanks again!

    Feeding mantis nymphs springtails?

Unfortunately I've not got a tall container though it seems I need to get one. It seems the springtails are frightening the nymph. It also seems more investigative, though i have seen it strike once lamely.

    Feeding mantis nymphs springtails?

@CosbyArt You have been more than helpful responding to both of my posts! II' been planning on putting my nymph in a very small container with a bbunch of springtails to encourage interaction but worried it may be overstimulating. They are a large grey variety that at first appeared to be small...

One mantid born from Oothica Nov 29th?

I took the ooth in after it only being out a few hours during the day and is in a container inside. I am pretty sure there is only one species of praying mantis common to my town Eugene, OR. Should I try to mist the ooth to restore moisture or  (im assuming) leave be? currently my mantid is in a...

One mantid born from Oothica Nov 29th?

If one mantis spawning signifies an irreversible state change in the egg then I will gladly take the egg back inside. thankyou for relieving my anxiety a bit. I have had atleast 8 adult mantids in the past and one pre-mature but never one so young. So even something as normal for an insect as...

One mantid born from Oothica Nov 29th?

Thankful for responding! I personally caught about 15 fruit flies last night, and some stilt bugs and dewinged them myself but am unsure whether or not be had eaten any yet. He seemed to show little interest last night when i tried to put some in front of him with tweezers, I expect they may...
