    Strange Spots On Orchid Abdomen

This isn't mine, but I am personally interested to see what happened to the mantis. According to the person she was fed 2 wild-caught flies recently which is my best guess of what caused this, but I'm still unsure. I really hope one of you experts can figure out what caused this because nobody...

    Rhombodera basalis throwing up often?

    1. Make sure to keep her hydrated, that's a lot of liquids she's losing.  2. Did she barf like this with other feeders, if with other feeders this happens then it is something wrong with her, if she digests the other feeders normally then it's probably just some strange reaction to the flies...

    Hello from OC!

A fellow OC forum member, welcome. The temperature is pretty good for most mantis species here in OC, maybe a little hot in the summer though.

    UPDATE: Mysterious Mantis Poisoning?

Update: The Orchid appears to be acting completely normal and even has a huge appetite! Although her leg petals are very deformed.  I just don't know if this can be fixed in the one molt she has left.  She also still has somewhat shortened antenna and a little eye-rub from the obsessive...

    UPDATE: Mysterious Mantis Poisoning?

@Synapze, all I cleaned the enclosure and other objects with is warm tap water, and then paper towels to dry the enclosure, as I've done countless times before. Although I didn't wash the coco fiber because I just assumed it would be fine. I'm wondering if it's possible that some type of...

    UPDATE: Mysterious Mantis Poisoning?

Many of my other mantises have eaten the BBF and their symptoms don't match symptoms of an abdominal infection like barfing.  Also just wondering if you can provide an example of the harm honey can cause because although I agree to much is, of course, harmful, but I've never found a little raw...

    UPDATE: Mysterious Mantis Poisoning?

For those who don't know a week or two ago, I gave 2 of my mantises, a giant Asian and an orchid mantis new enclosures. I checked in on them and noticed how both were constantly cleaning themselves and acting irregularly. I took the orchid mantis out and saw this... I quickly removed them...

Please Help!! Does anyone know why my orchid mantises leg looks like this? Both of her back legs look like this.

Update: Both the Orchid and Giant Asian are still alive. They both still act lethargic and have bad coordination. Although they both are now hanging upside down just fine, and the orchid is using all 4 legs. And they both still seem energetic. I have been able to feed them honey, and as much...

Please Help!! Does anyone know why my orchid mantises leg looks like this? Both of her back legs look like this.

Already have done all of that. My BBFs haven't become adults yet and the Orchid didn't want to eat my last one. Do you have any idea why this could have been caused?

Please Help!! Does anyone know why my orchid mantises leg looks like this? Both of her back legs look like this.

No, she is not acting normal now. At first, she was, now she is just hanging from the top of her enclosure with the 2 legs hanging. She also appears to have eaten off parts of her antenna. She is still energetic but is moved around lethargically.  My Giant Asian mantis is having similar but less...

Please Help!! Does anyone know why my orchid mantises leg looks like this? Both of her back legs look like this.

By the way, she is acting normal, but she did reject food for the first time since I've had her. Update: She isn't using those 2 legs and has eaten off part of her antennas.

Are there still captive-bred populations of Creobroter that aren't hybridized or is the entire captive population just a mess?
