What size enclosure may I keep an ooth to hatch

When or how can you determine that an unhatched ooth is never going to hatch? I have two I. Lateralis ooths which haven't grown or changed color since I received them weeks ago. Do I just wait it out?

I would also like to know this. Thanks!

    RED

Received some I. Lateralis ooths from Red today, packaged nicely and with an extra ooth! I like the use of the film case. Thanks Red!

    Yen Saw - (US)

It's a bummer that Yen is getting out of this hobby just as I am getting into it. I received my dead leaf nymphs yesterday, all healthy and well-packaged with two free Arizona Unicorns. Very generous. Thanks again.

    Found some ooths

I don't know if it's geographical or what, but I've always known them as mason jars here in New England. Others call them fruit jars.

How I make fruit fly medium!

My jar says 25g of sugar per 1/2 cup of apple sauce, but it doesn't say how much of that is natural and how much is the added corn syrup that my particular brand contains. I wasn't thinking about it when I bought the apple sauce, so you might want to check with others to see if they use the...

    Honey & Crickets

http://www.flickr.com/albedoa It better be one tiny cricket. They don't really chase anything much larger than a fruit fly.

    P. paradoxa - instar identification

Ooooh, I still have hope for some pretty colors then. Mine are L4, two light brown females and one dark brown male. They already look great, but diversity would be nice. :)

    Very proud today!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have a quick question not worth its own. :) Should I be able to tell the sex of my ghosts at L4? Two have very defines triangular shields and are larger than the third, who has a nubby diamond shield. Is it safe to say I have two females and a male?

Want to give us a hint as to what the new fungicide is? :) I wouldn't mind experimenting, myself.

How I make fruit fly medium!

I'd like a vinegar-less recipe. :) I walked by my cup yesterday, got a whiff of the mix, and couldn't immediately tell where the odor was coming from. It gets bad.

    Acromantis formosana Nymphs....

How aggressive are these ones towards each other throughout their lifespan?

How I make fruit fly medium!

I said I would report back on my masa, vinegar, applesauce, and yeast culture. I made it on the 17th and first saw larvae yesterday. :) Looking good, and smelling fine. If this is true, how do places that sell wingless fly culture keep them wingless? Only breed the wingless/flightless ones?

What is the binomial species name of the Taiwan flower mantis? That link lists two acromantises. Which is which?
