    Adult molt

    Still no adult molt... Anyone?

    Adult molt

The 3rd of my 5 mantids reached adulthood this morning, but I just realized that my first mantis (budwing) still hasn't reached adulthood and it's been over a month. His/her last molt was Jan 26 (approx. 6.5 weeks ago )...  Is it normal to take this long? I'm a bit worried. My creobroter was...

    Water

    Thanks! :D

    Water

@CosbyArt Thanks! Great info. As you and @Serle mentioned I'm going to start using distilled. I have noticed that my  terrariums are already getting hard water spots. I hadn't even thought of that until it was mentioned.

    Water

I've always used bottled water to spray my mantid's enclosures. This was fine when they were in cups, but since moving them to larger terrariums and now with the springtails and needing the soil to be so moist, I was wondering if bottled water is necessary. I'm not sure if tap water is safe for...

    Happy Molt

The scrapbook idea sounds interesting! I'll sometimes take the exuviae out and set it on the side table, it 's disappeared a few times. I assume it was one of the cats.. Unless they knock it off and the dogs eat it lol.. Someone does :P   Awesome! Good to know! :D

    Happy Molt

There's usually one lying around somewhere, but I eventually dispose of them. I did plan on saving them when I first got mantids, but I ended up not bothering. I think the cats probably ate a couple too :P   What about you? I wonder if I mixed it into the soil if that's something the...

    Happy Molt

Velma Von Tussle molted early this morning. She looks quite happy about it

    First Adult

I moved my bitty adult creobroter to a small 8x8x8 exo terra, to give her plenty of room, but she didn't seem to like it. She stayed in one place for 3 days and didn't move or eat - even if the fly walked right over her. I moved her back into her 32oz cup and she immediately perked up and...

    Roaches

True! My budwing doesn't eat fly wings or legs! lol..

    Your pets?

Nice! And Scooby is adorable

    First Adult

Ok, I'm certain she's  female then. As I can only count 6 when viewing with the naked eye, and in photographs I never count more than that. Guess she's just tiny :)

    Roaches

Yes! They almost fly off with her! But she's a tough & feisty little girl. Apparently she doesn't like to eat fly wings, lol... I find them stuck to the sides of her enclosure :P

    Roaches

Hope you get to hatch some! Finger crossed for your next attempt :)

    Roaches

My itty bitty Creobroter is eating blue bottle flies! :o  I'm still in shock. A fly is almost as big as her!

    First Adult

Great, thanks! I thought female too. I guess she's just "petite" for a girl. I'll double check with the flashlight as you suggested.

Does she still look female? I couldn't get a good side photo because of her wings.

    Enclosure Size

40 was a bigger ordeal!.. If only I was 30 again. I'm afraid of 50
