    My budwings are about 1-2 weeks into adulthood. Your lobata ratio is actually pretty good. Since the males are wimpy and are killed quite often while attempting to mate, it's good you have so many spare males.

    I keep a batch in the same large container, so obviously they are all raised in the same conditions. Most are black, a couple of browns, grays and even 1 green one. I'm keeping the greenie for mating, hoping to selectively breed for the green gene.

    Get a tarantula, they rock. Jumpers and wolf spiders are cool. I'm keeping 2 black widows, they're badass. If you have room, get a Nephila or an ogre face spider. Here's my girl
