    try to vary your cricket diet and see... I would take them off pet food.. i don't even feed my pets the commercial foods because of rancid ingredients, and i don't feed my crickets my organic pet food because of the carrot content...sorry if this isn't very helpful.

    got wings!!

    :D I woke up this morning and whilst I slept my sweet pet.. favorite of my brood... went into her final molt and had wings!! I was SHOCKED... she is EXACTLY 8 weeks old to the day. I hadn't expected it so soon. Here is a Pic... I am worried about taking her outside now because of her...

    i keep the humidity at a proper level.. all my other mantids molt fine... i think that the way his head was tucked kept it from emerging... anyway i thank you for your kind words and concern... still i wonder.. has anyone else seen this?

    Cricket Food

    I feed my crix fish flakes and minced scraps from the veggies I prepare for dinner (minus carrots)... I can't use my cat or dog food because I use holistic foods that contain CARROTS... has anyone else heard of avoiding carrots?

    :? Well this mantis did very well.. regained some of his fine motor skills, even developed his own method of hunch-backed hunting. --It fattened up very well and went into it's next molt..... Where it died a horrible death... I haven't ever seen such a thing! :shock: Apparently, I'ts head...

    i have a mantis that hatched may 21 or a day or two after... it has a dramatic curvature of it's spine, is uncoordinated, has trouble catching prey, but seems to eat okay with undersized food items... i can manage a pic if necessary... but has anyone had this occur? Can it molt out of this...

    :( How much room do they need to hatch then? I don't expect all of my ooths to be viable. I was my intention to wait until they hatched and transfer them to a ten gallon tank. Would it be wiser to hatch them in the tank? I value your opinion Rick!
