    L2/3 P. paradoxa still available

Still have L2/3 nymphs available! $5 each, minimum purchase of 5. Heat packs available for $2. We are in Southern California. If you're close enough to arrange local pick-up, that's an option, too. Here's my feedback from people who have chosen to post some thus far.

    Brunner’s hatch time

Oh yeah, definitely. She was the first to outright refuse to lay on sticks of any kind and we didn't have any putty back then.  I was going to ask this, too. I thought that once they had already been in warmer temps for awhile, the cooler temps would harm an ooth.

Also received orchids today. All happy and active out of the box! Great packaging. Thank you!

    Brunner’s hatch time

I remember reading about it here without diapause ... Yen maybe? We have one ooth we did not give diapause to, so we can see for ourselves! We did ours with 8 weeks. I've read people saying 2-3 months depending on who and where I read it. I want to experiment more with this on the next gen of...

    Brunner’s hatch time

Diapause depends on species. Brunners can still hatch without it, but it will take significantly longer (aforementioned year or so). We have 11 ooths, the first of which was laid around the same time as yours, which had a diapause, and has given us our first (hopefully of many!) nymphs. :)

    Looking for male Chloroharpax modesta

Located in southern California. We have one sub-adult and one pre-sub female. Trying to put feelers out now for anyone who might have a male, since we rarely see them.

    Popa spruca ooth not hatching

I make the rounds every night. Ambient humidity here can be unpredictable at times. If there's still a ton of water left from the previous spraying, I don't spray that particular container, but that's rare here.

    Brunneria hatchling care

Well, this was a timely thread! We didn't really expect any of our ooths to hatch for a while. One little lady decided she was ready. I suppose we'll be seeing more of her sisters over time. She happily took the smallest melanogaster we could find in our cultures. Last year we had gotten a...

    Brunneria hatchling care

... I didn't even think of that. We have about a dozen or so from our brunner and I've been wondering about this in general. They aren't due to start hatching until at least May-ish, and we have plenty of springtails, but still. Alternatives are good to ponder.

    P. walbergii sexing

I had issues with them initially when I got my first nymphs. (Then again, mantids were new to me period.) Somehow I managed to breed those and I'm a lot more confident with gen 2. All of my females had wings past the abdomen. One of my males had pretty short wings for a male. So that particular...

    P. walbergii sexing

If you post one that you think is female and one that you think is male, we could confirm for you and you'd at least know for sure. I didn't mean post 12 LOL.

    P. walbergii sexing

I've spent more time than I want to think about staring at wahlbergii nymph butts, but adults are easier without needing to count spines IME. Pictures would help!

    Missing leg

We had a nymph somehow pull a rear leg off about a month ago. It molted fine. The leg is almost fully regrown after just one molt. (Was an L1 when it happened.)
