    Spiny mantis scared of prey sometimes

    My spiny flower mantis (L5) freaks out sometimes when I offer her live crickets with tweezers. Sometimes she'll strike without hesitation, and other times she'll literally run all around the enclosure and freak out.     Thank you for this information. I learned from my mistake and I'm never doing that again!!! I've seen a lot of posts about bluebottle larvae. Is that a reliable live feed if I can't get lobster roaches aren't around here?
