    Yay wild caught Stagmomantis Floridensis

I found this guy hanging out by the lights at my buddy's apartment complex. It was quite a feat trying to catch him, thank god I happened to have my butterfly net in my trunk! He measures 7.5 cm or 3 inches, so I believe he is the larger Florida type. Sorry for the quality, I only had...

    Wanted: Very large grasshopper species

That reminds me, Joe. I've been seeing a large number of grasshopper species lately when I'm out in the cow fields, one of which rivals in size to the lubber. Next time I'm out I will try and get a picture.

    Ugh, worst day ever

So I just got home tonight and checked on my L2-L3 P.paradoxa and the 32 oz cup is completely empty (had about a dozen). Lid is completely closed, foam stopper intact, but no signs of life, no carcasses, nothing! Upon shaking the container in fury I see one straggling red ant. I...

I believe your nomenclature leaves something to be desired, maybe you should include scientific names to differentiate texas unicorn and texas unicorn boxer

    Craig

Bought a ghost ooth from craig. Received two ooths and two nymphs. One ooth has hatched successfully so far, I'm sure the other will too.

    Where and HOW

I've got a killer source, but you will have to pay his manager directly via western union to Nigeria. :D :D :D :D (/sarcasm)

    Insect Identification please

Thanks guys, I figured it was related to the antlion since their larva stages looked similar (though not that similar in their respective niche).

    Insect Identification please

I found something that carries a heap of dead ants on its back, like a decorator crab does in the ocean. I tried searching "decorator insect" but nothing came up. All you can see are some mouth pincers and legs on the bottom and just a big heap of carcasses. In Florida, by the by. Thanks.

    Grasshoppers as feeder insects

I've been sweep netting the woods down the street and catching hundreds of grasshoppers, some small enough to feed to L2 g.gongylodes and d.lobata. I also swept up some tiny aphids or katydids or something, small and green and my L1 p.paradoxa gobbled them up, so it seems like if grasshoppers...

    The face of Jesus!

Bottom line is, the thing was carbon dated by 3 extremely prestigious universities / laboratories and proven to be exactly as old as it is recorded to be in existence. The best defense that proponents of this thing say that they might have sampled threads or patches that were added or sown in...

    KSTBCR (US)

Finished a trade with Danny ( KSTBCR ) with great success. He even threw in some phasmid eggs for free! Overall I would recommend KSTBCR to anyone here in the Mantidforum community! -Warren

    Blepharopsis Mendica

What sort of food are they eating at L2? I've raised one of these a few years back but I think it was at least L4.

    Eastern Lubber Nymphs FS/FT

Yeah I think I feed them all the native plants they like to munch on, so definitely can't use as feeders

    Eastern Lubber Nymphs FS/FT

I would totally feed them to my crested and leachie but I fear the toxins would kill my poor geckos

    Eastern Lubber Nymphs FS/FT

Wanting to start your own plague of Egyptian proportions? Try the Eastern Lubber, the laughing stock of the grasshopper world. Big, fat, clumsy, these guys start out black and in their final molt turn a vivid yellow. Since they suck at jumping and cannot fly, they rely on toxins in their...
