I used to use distilled but switched to tap water with the same results the only problem is the lime deposits but I don't mind too much if the containers don't look pretty.

Sounds like your incubation temp was to low too, I incubate mine at around 26C daytime temps with a drop to about 20-22C at night, also how often were you spraying?? You should be pleased tho that you got a hatch and there may be more to follow if they only hatched with in the past couple of days.

becky they take D. hydei no problems at 1st instar, they even take prey bigger than themselves (some hydei are bigger), for a small mantis they are extremley tough ;)

I hope you didn't pay too much for it as Acromantis ooth's would be now where near what would be paid for a D. dessicata ooth. If you want to pm me who sold them to you I may beable to do something.

The first pic's (Parasphendale? look fine can't see anything wrong with them. The Idolomantis ooth's although there are slight holes I'm sure will be ok too although somebody with more experience of Idolomantis ooth will beable to give you a better answer. But the holes look like they occured...

Peacocks can be fussy eaters at times, try feeding it flies/moths so times it will stimulate them to eat, it could be coming up to moult they do sometimes move around a fair bit before moulting. How thin is it's abdomen? Does it look full? This is not strictly false information, utterbeastage...

How I see it is you have had the "rarer" species but nobody has continued or failed with the culture of them (that I've heard of on the forum), what happened to the many hundreds of Idolomantis that Yen bred, that goes for alot of his other species he sends them out and thats the last you hear...
