thanks for the reply agent A based off your experience on raising these little fellas, do you think they can survive on hydei for the rest of their lives after L3? I'm in the process of making plans to raise these guys, feel free to drop some knowledge XD

How big are they (in terms of inches)? and do you think these fellas can survive on fruit flies their whole lives? or do they have to upgrade to housefly/blue bottles?

The only time I see my tenodera move like that is before they strike being a martial artist myself I am inclined to think it is their way of feinting before an attack, which from my experience, almost always increases the chances of landing a hit but then again every mantis is different, so...

I woke up and saw two droplets of brown liquid at the bottom of the housing. I currently have hydei fruit flies in their for feeding, but I'm sure it can't be the flies that made that stain...is my mantis sick? its the tenodera species if that helps with the diagnosis Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Can the same method of culturing hydei fruit flies be used to culture house flies? same medium and all? i also have a jar of blue bottle fly medium from mantisplace...will that be of use for anything? besides using sprinkles of it for blue bottle pupae?

are my flies the only one not eating any of this? i'm using the medium bought from mantisplace.com and followed the instructions to the tee...all my flies just get caught and die in there =/

save some money and put some scotch tape in between the napkins and the floor of the terrarium or something heavy on top
