I love this species. i currently have an adult pair. the female just molted into adulthood yesterday. i will be attempting to breed them in the next few weeks. any tips rob? and yes the females are quite large.

i agree with afk. ogiga, if a human baby was dumped at birth it would die (100% of the time, unless found by an adoptive parent). a human baby needs care. it needs to be fed and kept safe, warm etc. a mantis like many other animals are born already capable of looking after themselves from day 1...

i think its all instinct. all of these 'mantid emotions' can be explained in instinct terms.

i agree... gravid african females are the most agressive mantids ive come across.

received some Pseudempusa Pinnapavonis from ian this morning. cannot fault anything and will order from him again.

what do you keep them in to make handling large numbers a bit easier?

i keep my crickets in plastic tanks with a substrate of sawdust. i feed them a staple diet of tropical fish food with occasional pieces of cat food and fruit or vegetable(no insecticide use). however i do not keep massively large numbers of crickets as i have a number of shops that sell them...

i agree with christian. it would be a shame for you to drop mantids that are very rare in the hobby. it may be that some of the more common species are your favourites(as are mine), so keep some, but everyone has them and you will easily be able to re-stock with these in the future. The other...
