What's the benefit of the combination?

Thanks everyone. Is there a specific type of crew you recommend? 

I'm new to this, and as my mandid grows, I'm wondering if I should think about getting a clean up crew for the small bit of substrate I have. Is this necessary, or no?

I'll be the first to admit I'm not an expert, but if I were in your shoes, I would definitely error on the side of caution. I don't know enough about pesticides to know if it may not target them, but I personally doubt that it wouldn't.  Getting them out will be a lot of work, but its worse...

I don't have any mantids, but I am interested in getting one.  Not on board 100% yet though.  Here to do some reading, mostly.  2 kids, one wife, 2 dogs, and a couple cats to boot.  Other than read about stuff that I don't do (yet), I spend time with my family, fish, and shoot.  Not enough time...
