    Skipping Sheds

Wow, Thats crazy! I cant believe it! She really seems to be healthy, in fact the most aggressive mantid I’ve ever had so far when it comes to feeding.  and yes, I would say she’s roughly 75% of what I thought her size would be.  I’ll take some pics as soon s I can to show you guys.

    Skipping Sheds

Okay so I have a common Sphodromantis lineola, now by all means she was sold to me as an L3, she certainly looked like an L3 to me anyhow, she shed once 2 weeks ago (L4) and then again this morning (L5) , but to my surprise she seems to have full sized wings, she’s even fluttered them out a bit...

    honey pot ants

Personally, I’ve never found it wise to feed any type of ant to a mantis, you can risk injuring them

    Cloth in nymph enclosures.

Thanks for the advice, I have made quite a few before but i guess I’m getting creative lately lol. I’m still having trouble finding a cloth that is similar, I see lots of poly mesh that is thick cut (too thick) and all the tule I find seem not fine enough. I was just hoping to find that exact...

I was wondering what type of cloth is used in insect cups? Where can I get it? I’d like to make some custom enclosures but I’m not sure what it is and how to apply it.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks :)

What kinds of paint and clay can I use in an enclosure?

Well, I got a double whammy here lol I was wondering... a.) Is there any type of Air dry clay or home oven bake that can be used to make objects (if painted) inside an enclosure that requires light to moderate misting?  b.) What kind(s) of paint are safe to use on objects inside an enclosure...

Indigenous fruit flies mixed with Wingless fruit flies

So I have a question, might be a stupid one but i thought I’d ask anyway.  I must have left my fly culture open a  bit to long and some freeloader got in the mix and days later I realized I now have 2 different types living in the culture cup.  My question is, should I be worried? Will there...

How important is a clean up crew?

Well, depends on what kind of set up you have I’d say. If it is really small, I would just replace it about every 2 weeks. If you’re maintaining a large enclosure and you don’t often clean it out completely I’d say yes I might consider it.
