I'm so skeptical about feeding him 

I'm by no means an expert but I gave water mixed w honey and my mantis was okay.  I literally saw him vomit a black substance.   So far he is okay and that was 5 months ago.  

So I acquired my mantis feeders as usual but now they have mold in their containers.  Can I still feed the fruit flies?  I use distilled water and did everything I usually do. 

Is it normal for a mantis to be so friendly it only wants to be out of its enclosure.  Mine will sit on my hand for hours.  It sees me then runs to the top of the vivarium which signals he wants out.  He sits on my computer for hours just watching me.  Last night he perched on my knee and...

The black stuff moving was digestion I believe it showed up after every feeding. Yes or no on honey? Do u give it as a treat? How often? 

I got a tiny meal worm and used tweezers. He ate it immediately.  not sure if I'll take him to work lol.  Seatbelts are not mantis friendly.

My mantis doesn't track food.   It looks but can't track it.  I know this is ridiculous but could it be blind.  I literally have to hold food in front of its mouth.  It's obliviously otherwise.

Thank you for the info.  I hope he molts soon too. He just doesn't seem interested in food. Hes more interested in me and hanging out on my hand.  If I try to put him back in the enclosure he just crawls out quickly and reaches for my hand. Then he just walks around or just sits and looks at me...
