    Deroplatys Dessicata Gender

It's been a while. At the end of my previous post I mentioned I got myself a new Giant Dead Leaf Praying Mantis, but I haven't been able to come up with a good name for it. And in the time that's taken the insect has molted a few times. So now, since the leaf shaped prothorax of this species...

    I'm Back.

Sorry I haven't been on in a while everyone. I've had a bunch of Mantis related anomalies while I've been away, where to begin?  Hierdoula Majuscula: Put my pair of of Giant Rain Forest Mantises together. And they mated twice. (That I saw) And he remained on her back while she laid the...

    Update to my Update

I put my Giant Rain Forest Mantises in the same large cage together, Nover returning to Nora's back. Now after being unable to get out of bed all day, I find her laying her Ootheca, with Nover still on her back. Never heard of that before.  So, they mated at least twice over a month ago. And...

    Long Needed Update

Over a month ago I put my Hierodula Majuscula pair in the same cage, and they mated at least twice. Because for some reason Nover didn't immediately hop off of Nora. She still hasn't laid eggs yet. Since he didn't get off after he was done once, I'm left wondering if it was out of fear or if it...

    Need something answered

Before breeding my Heirodula Majuscula I must ask, is it two weeks after the final molt for males and four weeks for females? Or something else? Because I just read three weeks for males and five for females? So.... Nover has since gained the coloration of his species, which he didn't have...

    Okay then....

Even though I thought my Hierodula Majuscula had a month or two before being fully grown, Nover molted again. And now has wings. So I was as wrong as I've ever been in my entire life..... And once again I am no longer sure about Nover's gender, but I'm sure some pictures of the newly adult...

    So now....

Neither of my most recent pairs of Hierodula Membranacea's ending up breeding. But what I really want to bring up is the what happened after NaruHina bit her would be mate's head off, his headless body looked like it was eroding. I can't explain it well, nor do I have a picture, but his body...

    Need looking into

I bought a male Hierodula Membranacea for my female, NaruHina a while ago. But looking closely at them in the same cage, I'm not entirely sure of Duncan's gender. So here is a picture.  I got Duncan from Mantis Place, and was even told this insect was a male. But I just to be absolutely sure.

    Long Awaited Update

Last time, I put my two Hierodula Membranacea, Shade and Toradora, in the same cage for a month. Since then put them in Toradora's cage, and ultimately she removed his head. Whether or not they mated is beyond my knowledge, but it doesn't matter, since Toradora is on the ground too. She'Z had...

    Giant Asian Male Mantis

One last time for my second generation, while I have a mate for one of my Hierodula Membranacea, her sister is also ready now. Although on the former note, those two have been in the same container for two and a half weeks.... Anyway, another adult male of that species is what I seek, but a sub...

    One Week Later....

Toradora and Shade have been in the same cage for a week now. Since I can't keep constant watch over them it'Z entirely possible they could've mated without me knowing. And since female Mantises lay eggs no matter what....Precarious.... Meanwhile, NaruHina will be ready on the first day of next...

    IT IS TIME~!

Today'Z finally the day, I had to wait another week until Shade was fully grown for long enough. All that remains is setting them up and waiting for Will to arrive, good thing I got a larger cage for this purpose. Two Hierodula Membranacea enter, one might not leave.  With half an hour...

    The day is nearing...

Just got that male Praying Mantis I needed, but for some reason....His right claw looks deformed. So if that'Z the result of a genetic defect....I'm left wondering if breeding him with Toradora might be a bad idea.... Tomorrow Toradora will have been fully grown for exactly four weeks. On top...

    My second generation

Happy New Year everyone~! As always, my own two Mantises are doing well. Just need to find males of their species, which I've had trouble with. Moving on, NaruHina's final molt is probably soon. I keep seeing her vibrate a lot at a time. Meanwhile her fully grown sister is doing great as well...

Two Male Giant Asian Mantises Please?

With the day Toradora will be ready to mate coming down to the proverbial wire, finding a Hierodula Membranacea male is becoming more urgent, and I've had zero luck so far. Her sister still hasn't molted yet, but I'm sure she will soon. So, to anyone with a sub adult or adult male Giant Asian...

    Requesting two Hierodula Membranacea boys

One of my Giant Asian Praying Mantis sisters has reached adulthood, and eventually so will the other. So with the matter becoming more urgent each passing day, I will be very happy to buy a couple sub adult or adult males of their species from anyone who'Z got any for sale.  I live in Fountain...

    Final Molt

Toradora molted for the final time yesterday. And unlike her parents she'Z....Golden. I sent the word that I need her mate soon in the classified section, but that'Z another story.  I saw her grab a meal worm, and watched her try to hold it while it moved. Then it got away. But I'll get her...

    Hierodula Membranacea Male please.

Since this is a classified I'll start with my location, Fountain Hills, Arizona, United States. Forgive me if I provided too little or too much information, since I'm relatively new to this procedure.  Given her molting pattern, I suspect Toradora's final molt draws near. Which can only mean...

Anyone got a Monarch Caterpillar lying around?

It has been determined that a Monarch Caterpillar would be an awesome pet. I can get the Milkweed plant and everything but I've been having trouble finding the actual Caterpillar, the way I want it anyway. So if anyone's selling I'm buying.  Located in Fountain Hills, Arizona I'd prefer it as...

Species Identification Request, and other stuff.

Down to my two Hierodula Memebranacea sisters. But right before their little brother died my dad found a smaller Mantis outside. I can't really identify his species (He'Z sure as Smurf not a Hierodula) So here is a picture, I can only attach one because of the MB limit here.  Moving on, I've...
