My oldest Deroplatys truncata female is approaching her 28th month birthday on 3/2/21. She was born Nov 2, 2018 and is one of my personal breeding stock (I think she is 3rd or 4th generation). Her first ootheca was deposited 9/11/2019, hatched 11/18/19 >120 nymphs. Subsequently she’s deposited 5 more with most recent hatching 9/19/20.
Originally she was labeled “F2” and her sisters F1, 3, 4 all have died over the last year. Typically I don’t name or anthropomorphize my mantises over the last 15 years of breeding, but she’s an exception since she’s the longest lived I’ve had. Here’s to F2!
