A funny little story...

So I went into the bathroom to pee this morning when I noticed something trying to climb up the wall next to the toilet. Much to my suprise it was a widow spider! I finished doing my thing and quickly ran to grab something to catch her. Im still trying to work out what kind it is but Im leaning towards a brown widow. I dont have any pics to post but she seems to be the size of a black widow. She is mostly black and has the classic hourglass markings however her legs are brown with black bands and she has a line of red spots running up the center of her back with two small red and yellow ovals on her sides. It also seems as though her abdomen is a bit longer and less rounded than a normal black widow. Anyway I just thought I would share.

Sounds like a male black widow to me.

Its WAY to big to be a male.

Size isn't always a good indicator for gender, I've seen some big males.

Females are all black, which is why I believe yours is a male.

Yeah Ive seen males before. If its a male its unlike any Ive ever seen. Also it has no white on it anywhere.

It looks WAY bigger and totaly different than anyother males Ive seen before but what I caught matches the photo. +1 lunarstorm

Thanks for sharing the pic, glad ya solved the gender mystery. And I don't think you're dumb at all, I give you props for not freaking out at finding a black widow climbing your bathroom wall!
