Acromantis Formosana

I believe all my Acros have molted to L4 now. I took one out today to photograph and it did something i haven't seen with other species before. From my experience, I've only seen a mantis threat pose or play dead but in this case, the Acromantis nymphs just ducked down and laid like a little puppy (iphone pics):

Might as well add my pseudoharpax viriscens nymph in here as well. I believe they have molted to L5 now. Still very tiny:

nope...it looked more like a defense mechanism. it ran so fast across the paper and then stopped and ducked to avoid me. it was even a pain to get him/her to stand up and get back into the deli cup.

They do it to look like a leaf and lie as flat as possible....a defensive mechanism, like going limp but in this case they flatten out...

I think they are scared. They are very cute too.

My Acros are beginning to molt to adult now. They're pretty small, about the same size as an adult male hymenopus:
