It's been I believe 4 days since she's eaten anything, yet her abdomen isn't flattened out. Now, I've read on here, as I was searching for an answer, females won't eat before they lay. I haven't mated her so I don't know if that would be a possibility or not. I know some insects will lay even if they haven't mated, but I'm unsure about the mantis. So, if it's not that, any other ideas why she would be rejecting food? She's actually defensive struck at roaches when I present them to her which isn't her normal MO. I'm concerned about her, and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Just leave the food items with her and if she does not eat it in a day or two then remove the food or maybe she does not like the roaches and wants something else maybe crickets or bees would work or moths!

About to lay an ooth. They will whether they have mated or not.
