All black eyes

I turned on the light in the half bath i have been keeping my female in on that little tree. Her eyes were completely black and ominous looking.

MacroJunkie should get a pic of that sometime ....

has anyone else noticed this ?

Mantids' eyes turn black or a darker color during the night (or if they are placed in a dark surrounding for more than 15 mins), the color varies from species (my orchids have deep crimson eyes at night).

here is pic of mantis been in dark for hours then i took it out tank and took pic..
