She's a wild-caught Chinese, I think, and she has only one front claw. She will grab the food, but will just stare at it or take two bites. She's thin and sickly.

What can I do?

Give her some warm water, spray her and right near her so she can drink!

Wild caught chinese? She must be VERY old which is what it sounds like.

Yeah. I caught her in... October, probably. She must have hatched late, because she is still rather small. She's supposed to be dead by now (my other wild mantids died mid-December).

Can you post a pic? A wild caught chinese in Oct would of been an adult by then and very old by now.

If she has adults (winged) then she is probably dying. Generally, wild caught mantids don't live this long. Like you said, most die out in mid December or earlier.

She's not a nymph, that's for sure. She's just small compared to my other females.

I found her on the bottom of her cage.
