Anyone have any weird/funny videos or pictures of your mantids?

I like to take cool/funny pictures and videos of my mantids when I can. Well at least my larger one because I have a pretty cruddy camera. Anyone else do this?

I made one last year of one of my sub-adult Dead leaf mantids (Deroplatys lobata), named Terry. I made a video in the style of the old 1950's sci-fi movies. It is on the forum already somewhere, but I can't find the post as it is lost in my many pages of responses.



Funny that yours is right beside you, nice that it has free roam. I get mine out often, but with cats in the house they are on me or their habitats only. Would be great to let them roam free a bit though.

Lol that's great yeah! We only have a corgi and he couldn't care less about my mantises. I actually took her out last night too when we went to get mexican and drinks. She was cool. Don't think I'll do it again though. I think she got a little stressed. Had fun showing her to the cashier at the gas station and even let the lady hold her. She's my good girl. Will deff get another H. Venosa after she passes.

Nice, a traveling companion, I can't say I ever heard someone doing that. Interesting too that she puts up with strangers holding her, sounds like you found a great girl.

Yes my P. Paradoxa is much more skidish. She gets easily upset and jumps a lot when she doesn't like something. Lol she's a bit fussy X)
