Hi i just have an unexcpected Stagmomantis mayor hatch yesterday I ran out of pinhead crickets and no fly culters left, Im ofering them aphid and they eat them prtetty well is it ok Or I am accidentaly killing my mantis with that food?

nope. actally i use aphids to feed L1 Mantis Religiosa nymphs. they are easier to catch compared to fruit flies

how do you "catch" aphids? i would love to know! there so small.

I cut the whole branch and sprin gle them on a tupper the place them in a flas and por some on each mantis container

+1 and it helps plants by getting rid of the infested stem,branch etc.

"catch" aphids?

i meant its easier for my mantids to catch, since they move much slower than fruit fly's

+1. A mantid will generally throw its prey away if there's something seriously wrong with it.

Aphids are a great food source for hatchling nymphs. I have used them plenty of times.
