I just prepared a new enclosure for my mantids. I used dried sticks I found at my parent's place. After introducing my mantids into their new home, I misted the enclosure. Immediately I could smell this very woodsy aroma. It smells nice, but not something I'd want to smell 24/7. I'm letting this dry out a bit, hopefully that will make the smell go away. Will this smell adversely affect my mantids?

It is not going to have any affect on the mantids.

I can say that mine did not mind the cedar branches (talk about strong scent) I used. In fact, he's quite happy with them.

ummm, smells like that won't hurt em! but I would not use cedar, it is also a bug repellant, it could do it harm.
