Who would've imagined finding this gigantic moth on school campus while ordering a dinner from Panda Express? LOL

Found this girl resting on the ceiling while I was ordering food from James Foy Hall in Auburn University. If you see a news about a guy chasing a bat-like creature in cafeteria that'll be me :p

Congrats on the successful capture and finding the eggs.

Bat-like creature huh, lol - I bet that was the talk of the cafeteria all-day, creatures running loose.

That is super cool!! Congrats on finding the eggs.
Thank you :) It really was a cool (and the best) finding of the day

Thank you :) I did hear people shouting "is that a bat?" while I was chasing the moth. LOL

Had tons of these hatch out so I had to give them away for free. Thank god there were people out there who were willing to raise them :)
Glad to hear you saved her and her family. Perhaps you introduce some new people to the hobby too. ;)

Well....the people I gave them to have raised Lepidopteras before so I wouldn't say I've introduced new people to the lepidoptera hobby, but I may have introduced new species to our hobby (assuming these will mature for them and breed!) ;)

I breed Lepidoptera :) it's actually been a really strange year for the group of us here in Michigan. We have had late Eclose of Luna and Polyphemus moths. Some as late as yesterday (10.4.15) . Strange due to diet and viability. We are freezing leaves to feed once all of the leaves drop. I'm hoping my Polyphemus and cecropia wait til after diapause. I couldn't imagine feeding another 80 cecropia right now. Haha . That is an awesome find!

Beautiful moth! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you :) They look more beautiful when freshly eclosed :)

Wow, having that many caterpillars during winter would indeed be terrible. Even here in the south most of the trees lose their leaves so it becomes pain in the butt to raise them during winter :(
