Nothing bad of course! Well, neutral at worst.

Anyway, both of my mantids are doing well. Here's a picture of them, they like to go near each other and stare at each other from within each other enclosures. The Male tried to whack his arms but obviously it didn't do anything. All they do is stare at each other, it's great!

Also, my chinese male created some weird stains... he seems to be fine, but what could it be?

Also also, I ordered a mantis nearly a month ago and it still hasn't shipped! Big upset ?

But anyway, how's everyone elses' mantis adventures going?

Edit: I cleaned both enclosures right after this picture, so don't worry about the sanitation! :)

Liquid poop is usually never a good sign. Idk what you feed them, but I would feed the feeder insects healthy foods like greens, maybe some flowers from out back, water and honey just to clean them out. Mantids are quite resilient insects , but can be susceptible to parasites.

On the other hand, that could be the guts of whatever you feed them. In your picture it looks like poop, but splattered guts happen as well. (Sorry for the imagery)

Glad that your mantids shipped though! Your mantids look beautiful and good luck on the molt of your green mantis! :)

I am glad it got shipped. Mantids vomit sometimes when they eat or drink too much, so as long as he looks healthy, he is probably fine.

I honestly thought it wasn't poop, but rather.. well, the things male mantids give to females to fertilize their eggs! Anywho, regardless of what it was, he's not been acting weirdly or anything and hasn't done it since! Also, is it a good or bad idea to have the mantids just stare at each other from between the enclosures? Could some of them get scared?

I think it's all about preference.  Honestly, in the mind of a mantis, they're looking at each other because the other thinks that they can eat the other.  Nothing more or nothing less. lol.  I think after a while, a mantis realizes that there is something in the way so they just stare and watch their every movement.  I keep mine in a row and they stare all the time.  So really, it's up to you.  As long as they aren't doing threat displays, I think it should be fine. :)
