My male is now 3 1/2 weeks into adulthood and the female is 4 1/2 weeks. She calls and calls. The male tried making his move a week ago. He jumped on, but she shook back and forth so hard that he fell off. The same thing happened the next day. He hasn't tried again since. I have the heat at about 90f, and the humidity is usually around 60-70% but ive been raising it even higher recently. I feed them every day and I give them water every day. He is not doing anything! I've kept them together 24/7, and I've done the opposite and tried separating them for a few days, but he still hasnt tried again. I've tried a different container for a day, used less light, more light, blew the fan into their cage to encourage movement. I've taken them out of the cages and let them roam on their own, nothing. Most of the time he just crawls on her like she's a leaf and irritates her. I don't know what to do, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just give it some time. I've worked with them before and it just takes a little bit of patience. He'll try again since its nature after all. Seems like you're doing everything right so keep on trying :)

Thank you :D

well ive been keeping them together 24/7, he tried twice the other day, but failed both times. Thats the forth time ive seen him try and fail. Hes really bad at this mating thing. Every time hes tried, it goes like this. He jumps on her, she shakes back and forth forcefully and he lets go or falls.

i think he also tried and failed today. today i left for about an hour and when i came back, i noticed his wings were ruffled so i checked on him, and realized she ruined two of his legs. Hes now missing a foot and half his leg... I think he tried mating with her and she got irritated. She obviously wasnt looking at him as a meal because she would have eaten at least some of him if that were the case.

Hes still hanging so idk if itll keep him from being able to mate. But he wasnt able to mate when he had all working legs so im really not expecting much from him at this point. Its unfortunate, how much work ive put into these guys, brought them to adulthood and all, and now he just cant mate for the life of him. Not the brightest bulb! i love the little guy, hes a beautiful specimen, but when it comes to mating, hes a downright fool... Hoping ill be able to get another male before its too late. My second female just reached adulthood so...
