So, some folks struggle to get black soldier flies to breed indoors without sunlight. It seems to be easier than suggested. I have yet to perfect it so far, but this simple setup worked for me. I've done very little for them besides feed them until they pupated, and turn the lamp on in the day time. I noticed egg clusters today! They are being kept on a cold floor, in a plain seedtray, with cover and a regular 80 watt incandescent bulb. It's a pleasent surprise for me, as I'd hoped for an easy way to keep to colony going when the cloudy winter sets in.
