So my female wallie laid an ooth today. And I was wondering why she was calling even though there was a spermataphore ejected. The ooth was formed normally, and i witnessed the connection so any ideas why?
Where did you hear that? "Ejecting the spermatophore" is a phrase around here that probably isn't correct/accurate. If she was mated and the mating lasted for awhile I am sure her eggs are fertile.Okay. I was wondering, cause ejection of the spermataphore means the mating was successful. So fingers crossed this ooth hatches.
I asked this too... the mantid bends her abdomen downward for a while. believe or not you will notice it when you see it. It is not a "natural" position.how do you know when she is calling?
