A molt is imminent when her wingbuds are swollen. If she has, I suggest you let her be.

This trick does not apply for younger mantids because their wing buds aren't developed yet, so there's no obvious sign of a molt.

They can however postpone a molt if being handled. Personally i prefer not to push my luck.
