Can L4 nymphs survive VERY heavy rains outside?

Before we all put them in tanks and delis to be cared for like little kings and queens I think mantis lived outdoors? it's just out there it's survival of the fittest, they should be fine if they have appropriate cover like the under side of a leaf, etc.

I had three chinese ooths hatched during the thunderstorm. They were L1! Yes, they'll instinctively find a place to hide. :)

 
No, all mantids of that instar die when it rains. Just kidding. They should be fine.

 
A few springs ago we had alot of rain in April and May the first week of june,there was Chinese at least L3,I thought they had done well
