Carolina after giving birth

My Carolina laid another ootheca last night so I shot a couple of quick photos of what she looked like right after. I know it's just a part of nature but the thingy hanging out her butt (forgive my ignorance but I haven't looked up scientific name for it) kind of grossed me out for a bit. I know you guys have probably seen this lots of times but I couldn't find any like photos already posted on this forum and thought I'd post for any other newbees such as myself. Sorry for the poor photo quality, I'll work for better shots in future.

All I see is some poop hanging out of her butt. Her reproductive organs haven't quite put themselves back into place either so not sure which you're talking about.

Ovipositor, thanks Extrememantid. now I don't have to look it up. Yeah Rick, I knew the dark substance was poop, it was the organ I didn't know. Guess there's nothing like taking a good after working hard creating an ootheca.

LOL.. I have not had a female lay yet... and yes.. it is natures way of disconnecting... so they are are not ripped apart, during childbirth.. or egg laying... LOL Sorry... bad memories.. hehe
