I live in northwest indiana and was wondering if carolina mantids would survive well here? Like how much cold can their ootheca stand?

Since it's a native, it should be able to withstand snow.

They're all over the place as native so they should be okay. Oklahoma had one of the most harsh winters on record here, going over a month below freezing and I think 3 blizzards (might have been 4) and I've seen more Carolinas this season than I ever have. Resilient little buggers!

Ok cool because i'm going to try and get a few ooths and release some in my garden. My garden is full of bugs to eat. So i want to release some there so i can have a population in my backyard to watch.

I grew up in central IL and they were all over there.
